Veneers

A dental veneer is a thin layer of tooth coloured material that is placed over the outer surface of a tooth. Veneers offer a patient a near instant cosmetic result that can correct a host of problems one may have with the appearance of their teeth. Veneers can help to correct the following:

 veneers

  • Stained teeth: badly stained teeth that cannot be improved by teeth whitening or professional cleaning treatments can be greatly improved by dental veneers, offering a whiter, more uniform colour to the smile.

  • Chipped, cracked or worn teeth: teeth that have become excessively worn, chipped or broken can be restored and re-shaped with veneers.
  • Gaps between the teeth: spaces or gaps between your teeth can easily be closed using dental veneers, giving you a more uniform-looking smile.

Crooked teeth: Ideally crooked/crowded teeth should be treated with orthodontics, but for teeth that are only mildly crowded, veneers can offer a perfect appearance in the space of one week compared to orthodontic treatment that can take up to a year or longer.

For these reasons, veneers are an important tool for the cosmetic dentist. The pictures below show a patient that has had six veneers placed on his upper front teeth:
