Dentures are commonly known as false teeth. They are used in patients that have lost some or all their natural teeth on the upper and/or lower jaw. Dentures are usually made of acrylic (a light weight plastic) but can also have a metal structure incorporated.

Traditionally dentures are held in place by the patients own oral structures (gums and teeth) but can also be firmly held in place, or be supported by dental implants. These secure yet removable replacements of patients’ natural teeth are custom crafted and fitted for each individual patient.
 
For many patients, dentures are the most appropriate answer to offer a solution to cosmetic (smile) and functional (chewing and speaking) problems that arise when loosing teeth.
