Bridges

The dental bridge is a prosthetic solution to replace one or several absent teeth. Unlike a denture, a bridge is fixed permanently in the mouth. A bridge is composed of crowns, which are fixed to the remnants of natural teeth, the ‘pontic span’, which replaces the missing teeth, and connectors which attach the components together; as in the diagram below:

 
A bridge is an excellent solution for missing teeth, yet nowadays it is slightly less frequently used due to the excellent results obtained with dental implants.
